School Tours and Programs

A visit to the Creston Museum is the best way to incorporate local history into your class curriculum!
Take a guided tour of the museum, focusing on local history in general or on the specific topic of your choice.

  • Participate in a hands-on activity: choose from the activities we already have, or give us a few weeks notice and we can create something to meet your specific needs.
  • Classes are divided into smaller groups of a maximum of ten students per group. Please have one adult available for each group.
  • Maximum capacity: 30 students for a tour only; 60 students for programs that include both a tour and a hands-on activity.
  • Scheduling and total length of program are flexible. Plan on 30-90 minutes for a guided tour, depending on the age of your students, and 15-60 minutes for a hands-on activity, depending on the activity chosen.
  • $2 per person, payable by individual students or in a lump sum; we can invoice!
  • Our lawn and gazebo make a good place for a lunch break, too!
  • Please book at least one week in advance.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, reunion, or anything else? Check out the Creston Museum for an old-fashioned garden party celebration!

  • We’ll supply the lawn games (croquet, bocce, hopscotch, marbles, jacks, hoop-rolling); a lesson in the schoolhouse; and a Museum tour.
  • You supply gifts, cake and other food, decorations, etc.
  • Available for all ages, May through September.
  • Plan on spending two to three hours here.
  • $50 for up to ten people, $5 each additional person.
  • Please book at least one week in advance.
  • This is primarily an outdoor activity.
