Looking for something to do?

We can help with that…

The Creston Museum provides a variety of activities for all ages…from young whippersnappers to very experienced whippersnappers who refuse to grow up!

Discover secrets of the town, get your hands dirty with some old fashioned life skills, or maybe even tour a local orchard and pick some fresh fruit!

Browse through the tabs to discover the adventures awaiting you!

These days, we’re all paying a little more attention to where our food comes from. But have you ever thought how it’s produced?

We have, and we’d love to share it with you.

A hands-on, hard-work, see-it-live kind of way to experience just how complicated our food really is.

On Thursday afternoons, join us for a half-hour program at the Museum, exploring the development of the local orchard industry and the challenges growers have historically faced. Then, board the bus and we’ll take you to a working farm to talk to the growers, see some of those challenges in action today, and pick some fruit to take home.

Orchard Tour programs are $15 per person (group and family rates are available) and include Museum admission, bus transportation, and the fruit you pick, as well as 10% off at Real Food Cafe, so you can enjoy local products at one of Creston’s most popular restaurants.

Thursdays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Call ahead to book your spot: 250-428-9262

7 September: Check back in a few days; we’re working on confirming this now!

15 September: Tentatively Cartwheel Farms, a small organic where two of the Creston Valley’s Young Agrarians grow fresh food to go (it’s delivered to your door each week).

Take a little trip back in time and see the town as you have never seen it before! What stories and secrets do our buildings and streets hold?

Hop into the buggy…er, bus…as we take you back to the Creston Valley as it was a century ago. See how the valley has evolved, and get to know some characters along the way!

Who needs a clunky ol’ time machine to explore and learn about the past?

The Museum has you covered!

Students will experience some of the daily routines and necessities it took to make it in the Creston Valley in the early 1900’s, from mundane house chores to animal husbandry & carpentry…and just maybe, get to make a delicious treat at the end!

Time varies based on number of students and topics covered. Please contact us to set up your Pioneer Lessons!

Go back to 1927 in our historic one room School House.

Be prepared for health drill! (are those fingernails really clean?)

We can cover various English lessons, Geography, Social Studies (can you match names to all the Prime Ministers portraits?), and even compare and contrast school nearly a century ago to today’s modern learning.

Various packages available for either the school house or in your own classroom. Give us a shout for more information and details!
