Coffee Patio: An exercise in relaxing after doing nothing.

The hot weather is finally here. It felt like a long time in coming, after an unusually cool, wet spring. The length and tediousness of which, was probably not helped by the current state of discombobulation in the world that started just as we begin to look forward to the weather opening up opportunities to play and explore outside our homes.

After the original novelty of staying home more and working from home wore off, (I would be lying if I said my introverted self didn’t grieve going back to work in a building) the cabin fever that was distracted from came back in full force.

But once you’ve run out of puzzles, it’s now too hot to work out side, you’ve organized your organizing the fifth time over and watched all the Netflix, what is there left to do? Doing little can be surprisingly exhausting and fraught with angst! You can only sit in your back yard, or on your small patio so much.

So in looking for things to offer the public once the world opened up again, the thought of actually relaxing, as opposed to doing nothing, kind of sat with us.

Sure, lots of us have been doing nothing! What could be tiresome about that! But when the year is as strange as this one has been, one is bound to carry a lot of tension. So what better way to relax, and release that, than having a beverage on a patio in a beautiful courtyard where you can actually have an in person conversation? (from an acceptable distance, of course.)

There is no better boost than fresh air, sunshine, and just a little brain stimulation from some cool new (old) things and conversation! A shortage of inspiring material is certainly not a part of our resume…It’s not uncommon to discover crazy similarities with total strangers over shared memories and experiences! (Hint: the all new Grandfathers Barn exhibit is in the works…and my bet is just about everyone has something to talk about that! Who doesn’t love what treasures Grandfather’s stash held?!)

So join us on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10-Noon. We have locally roast coffee available for $2/cup with admission by donation, or, if you are more comfortable bringing your own beverage, it’s just admission by donation.
