Here at the Creston Museum, we’re always receiving new donations of stuff connected to local history.
One of our most recent donations is a collections of several dozen photographs, all from the 1940s to 1960s, and most of them we haven’t been able to identify.
Like this one:
I have to admit, this one’s intriguing! Look at the size of that parade – on an evidently cold winter’s day! And all the signs encouraging people to come out and cheer while Creston thoroughly trounced Kimberley at…something. But what? What was the event? And what on earth was going on between Creston and Kimberley to inspire the kind of rivalry that this photo suggests?
We’d like to invite you to check out these photos – and if you can tell us something about what’s happening in them, we’d sure love to hear it!
