An Easter (not egg) Hunt

It’s Easter Sunday!

Evidently, with gatherings restricted, we can’t organise an Easter egg hunt. But one purpose of these daily doses of history is to give you something to do and ways of exploring local history – so we’ve come up with a collection of architectural “eggs” for you to find!

Important: When we wrote this article, people were still being encouraged to go outside for exercise. If that has changed, put this scavenger hunt off until those restrictions have been lifted. And remember – either go alone or only with members of your household to avoid spreading the coronavirus.

Here’s the first one. Click here or on the photo above to access the rest! Each “egg” is a photo of part of a building; we’ve also given you some information about its history and another clue or two to help you find it. (It seems to work much better on a mobile device – for some reason the photos don’t show up properly on my laptop! I’m trying to figure out why, and will fix it if I can!)

Can you find them all? Take a photo of the whole building when you find it, or note down the name of the business that’s in there now, and send your finished list to us at crestonmuseum@telus.net!

Bonus! The photo at the very top of this page shows a building that is on the route you’ll follow, but not included in the scavenger hunt. Can you find it, too?
