The Creston Valley by Rail

The Seventh Siding Trackers model railway club has its headquarters at the Creston Museum.

The guys are busy building a model of the Canadian Pacific Railway through the Creston Valley. Some of the things it features are still visible today, such as the grain elevators or the trestle over the Goat River canyon. Others, like Kootenay Landing, Creston Sawmills, and Sunset Seed, are gone forever.

A new section is currently under construction, and new buildings and details are constantly being added to the original views of downtown Creston.

The Model Railway is open at all times during the Museum’s operating hours. A visit to the Model Railway is included in your Museum admission, or you can visit the Model Railway on its own for a donation.

This is a work in progress, so even if you’ve seen it before, come again – there’ll be something new to look at.
