Bird Wars of the Creston Valley

This year, we were asked to create a presentation on the “Bird History” of the Creston Valley for the 2024 Creston Valley Bird Festival. So we’ve done a deep dive into local history, looking for all the many, many ways birds and people have intersected.
This has been an incredibly complex relationship, one that has constantly evolved and pitted people against birds of all kinds. And underlying the constant battles has been an ongoing effort to better understand the bird life of the Creston Valley.
Manager Tammy Bradford takes you on a journey through Creston’s history, illustrated with her own photos of local birds, with a special focus on our feathered friends…and enemies.
