We’ve been absolutely delighted to bring you daily bits from Creston Valley and the Creston Museum’s collection – and there’s lots more to come, we promise! But we’ve all spent a month and then some in social isolation – great job, everyone! – so today, let’s celebrate and reward ourselves with a chance to explore other communities and other museums. I’m speaking metaphorically, of course – we still need to maintain social distances! But the BC Museums Association has put together this fantastic collection of online resources from museums, archives, performing artists, and art galleries all over the province. Take a look – we guarantee you will find something of interest to you!

And, while we’re taking a look at some of the amazing things other museums are doing, may I draw your attention to the Yorkshire Museum, England? I am feeling very humbled by these guys. Me, when I have too much time on my hands, I create a crossword puzzle. These guys create an international #curatorbattle to find the creepiest objects in museums. I tell ya, they’re playing on a whole new level!
And some of those objects are really creepy. If you’re on Twitter, use #creepiestobjects to see a whole bunch of truly grotesque things that have landed in museum collections.
